Piper Aircraft is holding a job fair in Wichita next week as it seeks to hire engineers and other professionals for its manufacturing facility in Vero Beach, Fla.
The career fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7 at Century II.
“Most of our open positions are for a variety of engineering disciplines, but we also have other positions that are available,” Ellen Sobczak, Piper director of human resources, said in a statement.
Applicants should e-mail resumes to email@example.com before being interviewed at the job fair, she said.
Piper has openings for manufacturing, industrial, mechanical systems, flight test, quality, quality procurement, avionics and electrical, manager test instrumentation and aerodynamics engineers. It also has openings for stress analysts and senior designated engineering representatives.
Many of the positions are for work on Piper’s new single-engine business jet, the Altaire. The entry-level jet is expected to make its first flight next year with certification and first deliveries in 2014. The company says it has three years of production backlog.
Piper employs more than 800 people.
