Making ideas visually compelling has been Harris' job as a creative at the advertising agency. The addition of "senior" to his title won't change that.
"I'm an art director, basically," Harris said. "I do design and the visual side of things. Really the biggest difference is it's just a little more of a leadership role."
Harris, 29, grew up in Chanute and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in graphic design. After a job with a small operation in Wichita proved short-lived, he got hired at SHS and has been there for six years.
"My work, for the most part, has been with our regional client roster — Intrust Bank, Westar Energy, the Kansas Health Foundation," he said.
Never miss a local story.
Harris said he discovered his talent for drawing early in life and has always been drawn to "anything that was visually oriented. It's just that whole bringing ideas to life."
Outside of work, he likes spending time with his wife, their two children and his radio-controlled cars and trucks.
"It sounds super dorky, but it's fun to tinker around in the garage after sitting in front of your computer all day," he said.
