Mortgage loan specialist, Kansas State Bank
Even with its ups and downs, Overley likes the mortgage business because of the one-on-one contact with customers.
"The way things have gone the last three years, the housing industry has been down," he said. "The mortgage and refinance business is not what it was a few years ago. That's why I stuck with it. I really do enjoy helping homeowners, especially those buying homes, accomplish their dream."
Overley, 39, grew up in El Dorado and graduated from Emporia State with a double major in business and finance. He enjoys golfing and fishing.
He came to Kansas State Bank this month from a mortgage company.
"I originate mortgage loans for the bank," he said. "I meet with clients, discuss their needs in home buying or the refinancing process, get them approved, make suggestions as to what types of loans would best suit their needs, and bring that loan to closing so they can either buy or refinance their house."
Overley, who moved to Wichita in 1995, started out as a west-sider but now lives on the east side. He works at the Kansas State Bank location at Kellogg and Maize.
"Probably the hardest thing about the new job is the drive on Kellogg," he said.
