A little more than a month into his new role as president and CEO of Callcap, Will Steinhoff has set an objective to grow the company's sales force.
He wants to hire 80 sales representatives — locally and across the country — by the end of 2011.
The former Cox Business sales executive said his company, whose headquarters is at 125 N. Emporia, has a robust team of software developers that have come up with a suite of products that demands a larger sales force.
"What we've decided to do is equal that in sales and distribution," Steinhoff said. "That's the big goal."
Never miss a local story.
The company employs 75 in Wichita, 30 of whom are full-time, spokeswoman Lea Schlyer said.
Callcap, founded in 2001 by Wichitans Sunny Smith and David Keeton, is a call measurement company.
It provides toll-free numbers to Fortune 500 and smaller firms for use in marketing efforts. Callcap owns and operates about 30,000 toll-free numbers and says at any given time about 16,000 of them are being used by its client companies.
As part of that service, Callcap also tracks whether the calls made by customers to those companies turn into a "revenue call," or a call that results in the sale of a product or service. Callcap also records the calls made by customers to the client company.
Callcap staff at a 7,200-square-foot suite in the Garvey building downtown listen to those calls in instances where the call doesn't turn into a sale, and notify its client companies if there is an opportunity to make a "second-chance" sale.
"We go a step further to listen to a call and score the call," Steinhoff said. "That's really what we are all about, the accountable marketing piece."
