Mass layoffs in Kansas were up in November, with 1,205 jobs lost in eight layoffs.
That exceeds the number of jobs lost in October, 737, and in November of 2009, 741.
But the number of jobs lost in mass layoff events rises and falls significantly from month to month. In September, 1,245 workers lost their jobs.
A mass layoff is 50 or more workers who lose their jobs over a five week period.
