Learjet, school district join early retiree program

Learjet and the Wichita school district are among nine more Kansas organizations that have been approved to participate in the federal Affordable Care Act's Early Retiree Reinsurance Program.
That brings to 31 the number of Kansas organizations approved to date.
The program provides financial assistance to employers and unions to help them maintain health coverage for retires 55 and older who aren't yet eligible for Medicare.
The seven other new organizations getting approval are AGRI-Business Benefit Trust, American Academy of Family Physicians, Baker University, city of Olathe, Geary Community Hospital, Security Benefit Corp. and Sprint Nextel Corp.
