Newton Medical Center says its Wound Care Center and its Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab are outpacing projected use.
The wound center saw its first patient in July and reached its six-month patient projection in three months, the medical center said in a release issued today. The wound center treats patients with problems such as diabetic foot ulcers, burns and spider bites.
The catheterization lab opened in January 2009 and saw 312 patients last year. It projects 450 to 500 patients this year. It is owned by the medical center and Newton Cardiac Services, a for-profit entity.
