Kansans lost 366 jobs in four mass layoffs in August, that's down from the 416 jobs lost in five layoffs in July and 1,815 jobs in 14 layoffs in June, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In August 2009 , Kansas lost 945 jobs in 14 layoffs.
In the U.S., 92,435 people lost their jobs in mass layoffs in August, down considerably from earlier months. The sector with the most job losses in 2010 was temp work, followed by public school employees.
A mass layoff consists of 50 or more people over five weeks.
