Exports of civilian aircraft through August were down 14.2 percent from the same period last year.
They were down 46.8 percent in August, but export numbers can fluctuate significantly from month to month.
Overall, however, U.S. exports through the first eight months of 2010 were up 22 percent from 2009.
Agricultural machinery were 2.4 percent higher for the year. For agricultural exports, wheat was up 5.8 percent; corn was up 7.2 percent; and meat up 8.8 percent. Soybeans exports were down 15.1 percent.
