Echo Hills Development LLC has purchased the 80-acre Echo Hills Golf Course in Park City.
Located on the northwest corner of 53rd Street North and I-135, the land has been purchased for regional retail and commercial development, said the group's manager, Wichita commercial real estate broker and developer Mike Loveland. Construction is anticipated to start in the spring of 2011 with the golf course continuing to operate until commencement of street and utility construction.
"While we hope to redevelop the property with a mix of retail and commercial, we first need to work with the city of Park City on making improvements to the site, such as streets and utilities, that are necessary for large commercial development," Loveland said in a release.
"Ideally, the extension of the frontage road that currently runs west of I-135 but stops short just north of our proposed development would be included in those infrastructure improvements. We look forward to working with city officials on the site plan, design, zoning and the many others elements that are necessary to allow us to move forward."
Loveland said the land's proximity to I-135 and its traffic count is attractive.
"The approximate 50,000 vehicles per day at I-135 and 53rd Street North is as high or higher than the count at Kellogg and Greenwich in Wichita, and that makes the site appealing for restaurants, entertainment, personal services and various forms of retail and commercial development," Loveland said.
