The nation's largest bank is spending a few hundred thousand dollars on some of its Wichita branches.
Bank of America is spending $264,000 to remodel three of its Wichita branches: at 500 S. West, 3193 S. Seneca and 7348 W. 21st St., according to building permits filed with the city of Wichita and Sedgwick County.
Bank of America spokeswoman Laura Hunter characterized the projects as "business as usual" upgrades.
"Bank of America performs ongoing modifications and upgrades throughout our footprint to ensure all of our facilities are ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant," Hunter said in an e-mail.
Never miss a local story.
Those upgrades include making doorways accessible to customers with disabilities and installing wheelchair ramps, Hunter confirmed.
The bank operates 12 full-service branches in the city, all of which it acquired from its merger with NationsBank in 1998.
Most of the branches were established by the former Bank IV.
