Commerce Bank will break ground Wednesday on its new community bank headquarters in El Dorado.
The building will replace one that came with its 1994 acquisition of the former Walnut Valley Bank & Trust, an acquisition that gave Kansas City, Mo.-based Commerce its first presence in the area.
A groundbreaking ceremony has been set for 1:30 at the corner of Central and Denver.
Officials expected to attend the ceremony include Commerce Wichita chairman and CEO John Clevenger, El Dorado bank president Mark Utech and El Dorado Mayor Tom McKibban.
Howard & Helmer is the architect and Hutton Construction is the general contractor for the 5,200-square-foot building.
