Montana rancher and horseman Curt Pate, who was featured in a Business Sunday story about the "cow whisperer," will demonstrate a live cattle-handling demonstration during three upcoming Kansas Livestock Association Cow-Calf Profitability Seminars.
They will be Aug. 31 at the Fort Scott Livestock Market, Sept. 1 at Cloud County Community College in Concordia and Sept. 2 at the Barton County Fairgrounds in Great Bend.
The seminars, sponsored by Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health, also will have sessions on respiratory health, preconditioning calves and live cowherd evaluation.
Pate was a technical adviser for the 1998 movie "The Horse Whisperer" and serves as an instructor for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Stockmanship & Stewardship Tour.
Never miss a local story.
The seminars are free and begin with registration at 3:30 p.m. Reservations are requested by Aug. 26 by e-mailing email@example.com or calling KLA at (785) 273-5115.
