A group of Midwest governors that includes Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson will host a September summit to explore ways to increase investment opportunities in a "new energy economy."
The Midwest Governors Association has selected Columbus, Ohio, as the location for the summit, "Invest in the Midwest: We Make the Things that Power the World."
It will be held Sept. 21-22.
The association said the Midwest "has the resources needed to lead the nation in the new energy economy, including a strong manufacturing and agri-business base."
