Hawker Beechcraft posted increased sales and an operating loss in the first quarter compared to a year ago.
Sales for the three months ending March 28 totaled $568.2 million, up $30.6 million from the same time a year ago.
Operating losses totaled $25.1 million for the quarter, down from a loss of $46million.
Higher sales and lower losses were primarily due to increased volume in the military trainer segment of its business, the company said.
Backlog totaled $3.1 billion on March 28, compared to $3.4 billion on Dec. 31.
Net new orders were lower than deliveries for the quarter, resulting in a lower backlog, it said.
