Keller Williams Realty associates across Wichita and the country are taking the day off today to work on the company's community services initiative, RED Day.
The Keller Williams Hometown Partners group in Wichita will spend the day with the Wichita Children's Home at 810 N. Holyoke, working on the activity room, patio and kitchen of the youth center. They also are collecting needed clothing and other supplies.
As part of the event, they will hold a cookout for the children to unveil the remodel.
"We're excited to be a part of RED Day, continuing an important company tradition of giving," said Kit Corby, who chairs the local committee, in a news release. "Last year, we did a blood drive for the American Red Cross and had participation from agents and clients."
Short for "Renew, Energize and Donate," RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams offices and associates in an international day of service. During the 2009 day, more than 25,000 associates participated in activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks.
