Wichita-based Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America will build a 243-unit continuing care retirement community on a 17.7-acre site in Kirkwood, Mo., near St. Louis. Nearly 85 percent of the Aberdeen Heights' independent-living units already have been reserved.
"Our future residents have clearly indicated by their initial reservation deposits that they want the fulfilling lifestyle and long-term security Aberdeen Heights will give them," said Bill Ward, president and CEO of Presbyterian Manors. The nonprofit corporation has 17 affiliated senior living communities in Missouri and Kansas.
In addition to independent living, the $179 million Kirkwood project will have 30 assisted living apartments, 15 memory support suites and 38 skilled nursing private rooms.
