Shepler's Western Wear owner Gryphon Investors has named Bob Myers as chief executive of the Wichita-based western wear retailer, Gryphon said in a news release today.
Myers takes over for Dennis O'Brien, the operating partner at Gryphon Investors and the acting CEO since the Gryphon removed Mark Syrstad in September.
Myers' has 25 years of national retailing experience. He was with QVC for eight years, most recently as senior vice president of QVC.com building that company's e-commerce business to over $1 billion in sales. He has also worked at JC Penney.
"Sheplers has just delivered a very solid holiday season both in terms of sales and earnings, driven by good momentum in both our retail and direct to consumer businesses," O'Brien said in a statement, "and we are confident that his expertise will help us sustain that momentum and move the company forward."
