Credit Union of America added several new C-level positions.
The state's second-largest credit union promoted Paul Meissner to senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Frank Shoffner to senior vice president and chief operating officer.
It also hired Jane Hammil as senior vice president and chief administrative officer.
Bob Thurman, the CUA president, said Wednesday the positions were part of a management restructuring undertaken because of expanding business.
Never miss a local story.
Thurman said Meissner, a 19-year employee of the credit union, had the duties of a chief financial officer without the title. "Now we've just clarified his position," Thurman said.
But Shoffner's promotion means more duties for the 15-employee. As chief operating officer, Shoffner will oversee most of the credit union's retail operations in addition to lending.
Those duties had been shared by two vice presidents, Thurman said.
Hammil was hired to oversee back-office operations such as personnel and marketing.
In the past couple of months, the credit union has opened two new offices and said it would build another to bring the total number of branches to 11.
It acquired the former Bank of America branch at 501 N. Woodlawn and reopened it in December as a CUA branch. It also added a student-operated branch in Wichita Southeast High School.
Last month it announced that it would build a branch near the northeast corner of 119th West and 21st streets. That branch is expected to open in the fourth quarter.
CUA operates branches in Wichita, Derby and Great Bend and has more than 32,000 members.
It was established in 1935 as Wichita City Teachers Credit Union.
