Weekend moisture offers some help to wheat crop

Moisture over the weekend in parts of Kansas helped improve growing conditions for some farmers, although the state remains below normal for rainfall.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, winter wheat in Kansas was rated 10 percent very poor, 20 percent poor, 44 percent fair, 25 percent good and 1 excellent.

Cattle and calf conditions were rated 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 55 percent good, and 7 percent excellent.
