WICHITA - A 17-year-old Wichita boy is in serious condition today after being hurt in a two-vehicle collision late Sunday night on I-135 north of Wichita.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Dylan Fellows was injured when his car went off I-135 just north of Moundridge in McPherson County just before midnight Sunday, then veered back onto the interstate and was struck by a semi.
The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of I-135. Fellows was taken by air ambulance to Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus for treatment. A passenger, 15-year-old Kameo Herlan of Wichita, did not receive significant injuries.
The driver of the semi, 58-year-old Lynn Freeman of Viborg, S.D., was not injured. Neither of the teens was wearing a seat belt, the highway patrol reported.
