Crime takes a bite out of man's ear

WICHITA — Maybe he was channeling Mike Tyson.

Whatever the motivation, a 52-year-old man punctuated a fight with another man by biting half of his left ear off late Monday night, police said.

The two men got into a fight in the 2600 block of North Grove shortly before 11:45 p.m., police said. At one point in the scuffle, a 33-year-old man broke away and tried to take refuge in a building.

But the suspect caught up to him and bit his ear, police said. The suspect was arrested and the victim taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.
