WICHITA — Fire destroyed a house on North Gow early this morning, authorities said.

The blaze was reported just after 6:30 a.m. at 1050 N. Gow, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.

Explosions were reported in the garage of the house, which collapsed as a result of the damage.

"The roof is burned off most of the house," Wichita Fire Capt. Stuart Bevis said. "We're waiting for things to cool down" before they go in search for the cause.

No firm damage estimate has been established, Bevis said, but a total beyond $100,000 would not surprise him.

No injuries were reported.
