Police are looking for a lone suspect in a shooting incident northeast of downtown Wichita late Tuesday night.
A 30-year-old man reported hearing four to six shots outside his house in the 1200 block of North Piatt shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, Capt. Doug Nolte said. That’s east of I-135 and southwest of 13th and Grove.
The man went outside and found five bullet holes in his house, Nolte said. Another bullet struck the driver’s window in his car.
A witness a couple of houses down the block told police he saw a man running from the area about the time of the shooting incident. He was about 5-feet-8 with a thin build, Nolte said. He was wearing a white T-shirt.
“At this point, we can’t determine if it was gang-related or not,” Nolte said.
Officers investigating the shooting found evidence in the street near the house hit, Nolte said, but he would not divulge details.
