Man robbed at gunpoint on North Broadway

A man told police he was robbed by a man brandishing a handgun on Broadway late Thursday morning.
The victim, a 19-year-old man, walked to his house on Piatt after being robbed and reported the crime, Capt. Dan East said. The robbery actually took place shortly before 11:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Broadway, the victim said.
The suspect approached him, pointing a handgun at him, and demanded money. The victim complied, giving him a small amount of cash. The suspect then left.
He is described as a black man about 27 years of age who is 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds. He has short hair and a mustache. He wore black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call detectives at 316-268-4177, East said. They can also call Crime Stoppers at 16-267-2111.
