Information on Alzheimer’s research to be provided at Aug. 12 luncheon

The Alzheimer’s Association and the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita are hosting a luncheon and informational session on Alzheimer’s disease from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 12 at the Alzheimer’s Association, 1820 E. Douglas, according to a news release.

The luncheon, which will be catered by Noodles and Company, will begin at 11:30 a.m. and has a suggested $10 donation. Proceeds will go toward the 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Psychiatrist Matthew Macaluso with KU will deliver information on the latest research on the disease and information about clinical trials at the university. His presentation will be from noon to 1 p.m.
