Butler County authorities call off manhunt for stolen vehicle suspect

Butler County authorities have called off a manhunt looking for a person who stole an Oklahoma vehicle, a dispatcher said.

At 1:14 p.m. dispatchers received a call of suspicious activity, and officers with the El Dorado Police Department, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol and Andover Police Department responded.

Authorities recovered the Ford pickup truck and attached trailer, but did not locate the man, the dispatcher said.

Officers called off the search in the 2800 block of West Central in El Dorado at approximately 4:15 p.m., the dispatcher said.

Dispatchers said they did not know whether or not the man is considered armed and dangerous.
