President Barack Obama apparently can’t get enough of Kansas City barbecue.
Oklahoma Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que, which some say is the best in Kansas City, tweeted out about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday: “Just now sent a rather large order to go with three serious looking guys in AIR FORCE ONE flight jackets.”
A call to the store’s location at 3002 W. 47th Avenue in Kansas City, Kan., confirmed the tweet.
“The tweet has all the information in it,” said Doug Worgul, director of marketing for Oklahoma Joe’s.
When asked if the order was for whom they thought it was, the men just nodded.
“It was a pretty straight forward transaction,” he said. “They were not really forthcoming.”
The total was about $1,400 for the lunch. So what was in the order?
There was about 30 slabs of ribs, 20 pounds of pork, lots of sausage and sides, he said.
“But not coleslaw,” Worgul said.
