Find excuses to linger outside Tuesday if you can, Wichita.

Sunny days in the low 80s with a light breeze don’t come along in late July all that often in the Wichita area. That’s what’s on tap for south-central Kansas today, forecasters say.

A slight chance of showers arrives late Tuesday night, with chances increasing after midnight. Lows will settle in the mid-60s.

Rain is likely to stretch into Wednesday, forecasters say, when highs will top out in the mid-70s. Showers and thunderstorms could persist well into the evening.
