Police: Man, 21, shot in leg while leaving party

Wichita police are investigating a shooting in which a 21-year-old man was shot in a leg while leaving a party in the 700 block of East Mount Vernon, near Broadway.
The shooting was reported at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, according to Sgt. Ed Brower, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
A witness to the shooting told police that the shots were fired by a person who was driving a newer model light-colored pickup with a loud aftermarket exhaust.
Police found a shell casing in an alley and additional casings nearby.
The 21-year-old man was taken by private vehicle to St. Francis in stable condition.
