Wichita police found a 37-year-old man who was nude, unconscious and suffering from obvious facial injuries under a tree in the 2600 block of South Holyoke about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

As police arrived, five male suspects ran to the east and were not found, police Sgt. Ron Hunt said.

The injured man was taken to a hospital and was suffering from a broken nose and fractured cheek bone, Hunt said.

The man doesn’t appear to live at the location, near Pawnee and Hillside, where he was found, Hunt said. He added that he had no information to provide on how the man came to be at that spot and in that condition when police found him.
