A 41-year-old man was killed when he turned his Harley-Davidson motorcycle into the path of an oncoming Lexus at an intersection in southwest Wichita late Wednesday night, authorities said.

Donovan Ward was thrown from his motorcycle by the force of the collision at 11:40 p.m. at Harry and Orient, Lt. Dan East said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 44-year-old woman who was a passenger on Ward’s motorcycle was also ejected and seriously injured. She was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, where she is in serious condition.

Ward was turning west onto Orient from Harry when his motorcycle was hit by the eastbound Lexus, East said. The collision occurred southwest of Kellogg and Seneca.
