One man was stabbed and another arrested at around midnight Tuesday just east of downtown Wichita, authorities said.

A 34-year-old man was stabbed several times by an acquaintance who came to his door and claimed he was being followed, Lt. Dan East said.

“He was very nervous,” East said of the suspect.

He continued to act nervous for reasons that weren’t clear, East said, before he suddenly attacked the victim with an unknown cutting object at about midnight Tuesday in the 300 block of North Ash. That’s southwest of Central and Grove and just east of I-135.

The victim was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. His 39-year-old attacker was arrested.
