Folks hungry for some summer weather will delight in the forecast for the next couple of days in the Wichita area.
Temperatures will climb near 100 Monday and Tuesday under sunny skies, forecasters say. South winds will be in the teens and gust above 20 miles an hour on Monday before easing a bit on Tuesday.
The heat index – a measure of what it feels like – will rise above 100 in the region both days, according to the National Weather Service.
Chances for showers arrive early Wednesday morning, forecasters say, along with cooler air. Highs on Wednesday are expected to only be in the low 90s.
