A 65-year-old man was riding his bicycle ice cream cart Wednesday evening in the 1900 block of North Market when he heard someone running behind him.
That’s when he was punched and knocked off the bicycle, Lt. Dan East said Thursday.
The unknown suspect, about 16 years old, struck the man from behind. He demanded money from the victim, punching him in the face. The victim sustained minor facial injuries, East said.
Residences in the neighborhood “heard the commotion,” East said, and when they arrived on scene the suspect ran southbound on Market. The victim did not lose any money.
The male suspect was described as approximately 5 foot, 6 inches tall. He was wearing khaki shorts and a lime green shirt. There may also have been two other male teenagers involved, East said.
