A 19-year-old woman was trying to break up a fight at a house party when she was punched multiple times in the head Wednesday morning, Wichita police Lt. Dan East said Thursday.
The fight between two men broke out at the house near Seneca and McCormick, East said. The woman tried to intervene and one of the men turned on her, resulting in a broken jaw. The 25-year-old suspect punched her approximately 20 times, according to a crime sheet.
A friend drove the victim to Galicia Heart Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries. She “refused prosecution because she (was) scared,” the crime sheet said. No arrests have been made, East said.
