A Sedgwick County District Court judge has sentenced a man to nearly three years in prison for multiple burglaries last year targeting Rent-A-Center stores.
Galen Faggitt, 50, was sentenced last week to 34 months for burglaries that occurred last September, Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett announced in a prepared statement. The break-ins took place at the Rent-a-Center stores at 2515 S. Seneca and 225 E. 47th St. South.
The burglaries caused an estimated $3,500 in property damage and lost merchandise, Bennett said. Faggitt was identified through DNA testing of blood left at the Seneca store on Sept. 15.
He was seen coming out of a broken store window at the 47th Street store three days later. Faggitt has five previous burglary convictions.
Judge Richard Ballinger also sentenced Faggitt last Thursday in two domestic violence cases. One occurred last year, the other this year.
