Monday will be hot in the Wichita area, with highs climbing near the century mark for the first time in several weeks.
South-southwesterly winds will gust to about 25 miles an hour under sunny skies, forecasters say. The surge of heat comes in front of an approaching cold front, which will bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday.
Lows tonight will be in the mid-70s, forecasters say, with Tuesday’s highs only reaching the low 90s under mostly sunny skies. Chances for rain will persist through the evening hours, with overnight lows in the upper 60s.
Wednesday is shaping up to be sunny but cooler still, with highs in the upper 80s.
