A former Wichita bank employee has been sentenced to one year and nine months in federal prison for theft, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Monday.

Lisa Evans, 43, admitted to stealing at least $289,000 while working for a Wichita branch of Southwest National Bank from 2011 to 2013. Evans was responsible for balancing the bank vault on a daily basis, and the theft was revealed in a surprise audit in April 2013.

Security footage of the vault showed Evans taking money from the vault.
