Stranger fires shots inside, outside house near Central, Edgemoor

An intruder fired one shot inside a house and a second shot outside Sunday night in east Wichita, police said.

An intruder fired one shot inside a house and a second shot outside Sunday night in east Wichita, police said.

A man and woman said the stranger forced his way into their house in the 600 block of North Ridgewood shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Lt. Dan East said. That’s near Central and Edgemoor in east Wichita.

The stranger punched the 27-year-old man in the face, then pointed a gun at the couple and fired a shot inside the house, East said. He took undisclosed items and left, firing another shot outside the house before he disappeared.

Neither the man nor the woman was injured, East said. They told police the intruder was a black male about 25 years of age who is 6-feet-1 and 270 pounds. He has a beard and wore black framed glasses, blue jeans and a black T-shirt.
