Police are investigating the burglary of a store in south Wichita early Thursday morning.
An employee of Mike’s Smoke Shop in the 1000 block of South Seneca called to report the burglary at 3:45 a.m., Lt. Dan East said.
The burglars forced open a door, damaged six gaming machines and removed money from the machines, East said.
Anyone with information related to the burglary is asked to call detectives at 316-268-4407. They can also call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Tips can be submitted at www.wichitacrimestoppers.com or by texting TIP217, then the message, to CRIMES (274637).
East said detectives will look into whether Thursday’s burglary is connected to a burglary at EZ Stop Smoke Shop at 1726 W. McCormick the day before.
Security video indicates two men and a woman broke into that store near Friends University at about 3 a.m. The burglars took several cartons of cigarettes and e-cigarettes.
