Two people were rescued in the waters near Hallandale Beach after they fell off their boat in Key Largo and treaded water for more than 14 hours.

The Coast Guard Sector Miami says an off-duty detective and firefighter found Sean McGovern, 50, and Mellisa Morris, 52, early Saturday morning. The pair said they fell from their 30-foot Island Hopper boat and were distanced from the vessel around 6 p.m. Friday. They treaded water throughout the night until being found.

The two were without flotation devices and had nothing to signal help from other boaters, but were not injured. Friends picked them up at the Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale.

The boat is still missing.
