The start of a jury trial in Texas of a Goddard man facing federal child sex charges has been continued to Aug. 25.
Paul Francis Grimm, 42, requested the continuance this week in a federal court in Galveston, Texas, according to court documents. His trial had been set to begin June 30.
Grimm was indicted in April by a grand jury on one count of taking a girl under 18 years old across state lines with the intent of having sex with her, court records show.
He was arrested March 29 in Galveston after he and the girl got off a cruise ship. U.S. customs found naked pictures of the girl on Grimm’s cellphone, and the girl told FBI agents she had sex with him, according to the criminal complaint.
Never miss a local story.
Grimm is a senior master sergeant in the Kansas Air National Guard and is stationed at McConnell Air Force Base. He is being held in the Galveston County Jail.
