A man wearing a Wal-Mart plastic bag over his face and brandishing a knife robbed the Presto convenience store near Kellogg and Tyler early Wednesday morning, police said.

The bag didn’t do much to obscure his appearance, however, and officers responding to the report of the robbery found him a short time later at a nearby hotel, Lt. Dan East said.

The incident was reported shortly before 4 a.m. by the 19-year-old clerk working at the Presto at 1254 S. Tyler, East said. The man came in and demanded cash from the register and Kansas Lottery scratch tickets.

He then left the store and walked south. Officers found the 25-year-old man at a hotel in the 8400 block of West Kellogg and arrested him, East said.
