A well-placed elbow jab foiled an armed man’s robbery attempt early Tuesday morning, police said.
A 54-year-old railroad employee was working on a rail line at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of South Gordon when a man came up from behind and put a knife to her throat, demanding money, police Lt. Dan East said. That’s west of Harry and Meridian in southwest Wichita.
The woman didn’t comply with the robber’s demand, instead nailing him with an elbow. Thrown off-guard, the suspect pushed the woman down and ran off, East said.
The woman did not require medical treatment.
