Dressed all in black, he climbed through the drive-through window of a south Wichita fast-food restaurant, displayed a gun — and still left empty-handed early Tuesday morning, police said.
A clerk at the McDonald’s at 1630 S. Hillside, near Harry, reported that a man came in through the drive-through window of the business at about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday and demanded the key to the store’s safe, police Lt. Dan East said. But none of the four employees in the store had a key to the safe, so the suspect left through a back door and departed the scene in a dark-colored Buick.
East said he didn’t know if the robber drove away or got into the passenger’s seat.
None of the employees were injured, East said.
