He was walking to the hospital Thursday night to visit a friend, but before his journey ended he became a patient himself, police said.
The 25-year-old man was walking to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis with his 42-year-old girlfriend at about 9 p.m. Thursday when an argument erupted and he began hitting and kicking the woman, Lt. Dan East said. She ran to a friend’s apartment in the 900 block of North Broadway for help.
Over the next hour, the boyfriend and the woman’s 46-year-old friend argued repeatedly, East said. The dispute escalated before the older man stabbed the younger man in the stomach.
The victim then walked to St. Francis, where he was admitted for treatment, East said. Police interviewed the woman and her friend, but no arrests were made.
