A 29-year-old Hutchinson man was injured early Monday morning in what police are calling an alcohol-related car-pedestrian accident in Hutchinson.

According to Hutchinson police Sgt. Brian Hirt, a 2005 Dodge Magnum, driven by Amber Morris, 29, of Wichita, was westbound in the 1400 block of East 26th at 1:56 a.m. when the vehicle hit Ted C. Vollnogel, 29, of Hutchinson.

Vollnogel was admitted at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with fractured ribs and severe scrapes to his body, Hirt said.

“Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in this motor vehicle collision for both the driver and the pedestrian,” Hirt said in a news release.
