The KU School of Medicine-Wichita is hosting a bone marrow donor drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 30 at the campus, 1010 N. Kansas, according to a news release.

The event helps people join the Be the Match Registry, which matches donors with patients in need of bone marrow or stem cells.

The marrow transplants can help people with such diseases as leukemia and aplastic anemia.

Donors must be between 18 and 44 and in good health. To participate in the drive, prospective donors must undergo a cheek swab.
