A 56-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 50 near Walton in northeast Harvey County, an emergency dispatch supervisor said.
The man was driving a Chevrolet pickup west on U.S. 50 near Eastlake Road about 2:30 p.m. when an eastbound Acura Integra crossed over the center line, the supervisor said.
The Acura hit the rear passenger door of the pickup, causing it to swerve and go into the ditch. The truck overturned, trapping the man inside. His 22-year-old son, who was a passenger, was able to crawl out of a rear window.
The man died at the scene, and his son sustained minor injuries, the supervisor said. The 31-year-old woman driving the Acura was not injured.
The man’s name wasn’t released pending notification of family members. Investigation into the accident is continuing.
